Sylvie Jacques has over thirty years of experience in the venture capital and corporate financing industry, and in the SME market in various activity sectors. She has worked as a manager and an investor for several major financial institutions. In particular, she was the Recreational Tourism fund manager at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, where she managed a $100-million investment portfolio. She also managed the Tourism and recreation division of the Private investments group at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. She held portfolio manager positions at the Business Development Bank of Canada and, more recently, at the Fonds d’investissement de la culture et des communications.
Over the course of her career, she has helped to grow several different companies, both as a board member and as a management consultant. She has analyzed numerous investment opportunities, performed due diligence investigations, negotiated contracts, structured investments, and monitored portfolio companies. She has acquired solid expertise in evaluating business plans and investment projects, and in developing investment strategies and financing packages.
Sylvie has sat on the board of directors of more than fifteen companies, including Transat A.T. inc., Manoir Richelieu, Télé-Québec, as well as several SMEs. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a specialization in Finance, and is a member of the Québec Order of Chartered Professional Accountants.
