Jacques Bonaventure has worked in the aerospace industry for almost 40 years. He launched his career at the federal Department of Industry where he was a sector manager for the Aerospace Branch. He subsequently joined Héroux-Devtek (HD) as Vice President of Corporate Development and then accepted the role of Vice President  of Marketing, Landing gear. As Vice President of Corporate Development, he was responsible for investor and government relations and acquisitions. On behalf of HD, he was awarded the McDonnell Douglas teammate of distinction award in recognition of outstanding achievement and the seamless introduction of the T-45 arresting hook program, in particular.

In 1998, he joined the Societé Générale de Financement, where he managed the transportation investment portfolio. In 2001, he moved to NFM, a privately-held firm that specialized in shot-peen forming of aerospace wing skins and would become an aerostructure supplier. During his tenure as COO at NFM, he was assigned for a year to Industry Canada as team leader for aerospace investment strategy (FDI) and main CRM for Bombardier Aerospace and landing gear sector companies.

In 2004, Jacques Bonaventure was recruited by Asco Industries to boost the company’s international development. In 2009, he moved to Centra Industries. In September 2012, Jacques joined General Electric’s financing division, where he oversaw the Aerospace and Defence sectors for GE Capital Canada, now Wells Fargo Equipment Finance. In December 2016, he joined LISI, a leading aerospace fasteners manufacturer as Vice President of Sales, Americas and Pacific. During this time, he led a team of 10 sales professionals and managed internal sales offices responsible for over $250 US million in sales per year.

Jacques sat on the AIAC Board of Directors between 2006 and 2011, and has been a member of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade’s Aerospace Advisory Board since March 2010. He was also a member of the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) Industrial Participation sub-committee (Offsets) in 2015 and has twice been a member of the Gille Demers prize jury for Aero-Montréal.

Jacques Bonaventure is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada and holds an MBA from the University of Ottawa. He is also a Certified General Accountant (CGA) in the province of Ontario.
