Ariane Controls Announces New Distribution Partner for Singapore and Malaysia

Ariane Controls a fabless powerline communication (PLC) technology developer, announced that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Tetra Engineering, a leading service provider of high precision Tooling Design, Fabrication, Assembly and Product & Solutions Distribution for various industries.

"This partnership opens the doors of the growing Asian market for us in a way that would not be possible otherwise", notes Jean-Pierre Fournier, Ariane's President. "The PLM-1 powerline modem is the perfect solution for our demanding customers", said Dennis NG, President of Tetra Engineering PTE Ltd. "We see more and more demand for command and control communication solutions for lighting control, building automation, RS485 replacement or Smart Grid applicaitons. We now have the technology and the knowledge to fulfill these demands."

The PLM-1 is a digital modem implementing a half-duplex transmitter/receiver for powerline communication (PLC). Designed as an ASIC, the device is a very efficient solution for cost sensitive, medium data rate applications. The PLM-1 uses Ariane's patented narrowband FSK (Frequency-Shift Keying) modulation technique. Featuring complete media access control (MAC), Forward Error Correction algorithm, programmable parameters and simple external circuits, PLM-1 porvides reliable communication and allows designing more cost-effective PLC transceivers than possible with any other solution.
