Jean-François Deschênes

Senior business advisor

Jean-François Deschênes, Chief Web Officer at Bombardier, has worked in the traditional and electronic media for over 15 years. After a career in teaching and management at the Université de Montréal, he participated in the development of the Voir newspaper and the launch of the Techno technology magazine in partnership with Transcontinental Group. He then joined Microsoft as Executive Producer for an online urban guide portal project, Microsoft Sidewalk. He then became General Manager of the Sympatico Portal, Francophone Market before joining the Normal Net Group, where he participated as Vice President, Convent and Technology and founding member in the creation of a Web service company with offices in Montreal and New York. As President, he clustered the proprietary technologies of the Normal Net Group under Normal Solutions, a society subsequently resold to the Cognicase Group. He then held a position as Senior Director of the Yellow Pages Group before joining Xtranormal technologies as General Manager, Web Operations and then joined w.illi.am as Vice President of Business development. His specialties are business development and strategy, business startup and development, major Web project management, and multidisciplinary personnel management.
